About WSP Pride
WSP Pride started in 2019 because we thought West St. Paul deserved its own celebration of the LGBTQIA2S+ community. We wanted something that belonged here. We’d just planned a sweet little potluck in the park for a summer day, and now here we are.
We're run by volunteers and community members, separate from the city itself. (We get a lot of questions about that.) Our work is showing up to partner with other organizations, maintaining a presence in WSP throughout the year, and making sure queer folks in our community know they're welcome here. Our biggest moment is WSP Pride in the Park each July.
Welcome and belonging are at the heart of what we do. The people we plan for include the folks flying a pride flag all year long, the neighbors who want each other to feel included, the families who weren't sure they'd be welcome, and the kids who needed to see something like this exist where they live. We try to plan everything with each of you in mind.
